worsening condition . was created by disaillusioned
Hi every one , I am new to this forum and looking for advice regarding pip .
In December 2018 along with members of my family I attended a tribunal which resulted in being awarded standard rate daily living and standard rate mobility , prior to this on DLA for 6 years on higher rate mobility , I lost the mobility car which was invaluable I suffer with debilitating Rheumatoid Arthritis osteoporosis PTSD COPD Anxiety panic attacks and Agoraphobia .
The award date will bring me to February 2023 and as I will be over 65 years of age by then with these conditions that have worsened I would not be eligible for higher rate mobility .
As I am in the clinically vulnerable group and have not been able to see any medical professionals during this pandemic so no new evidence ! do you think it possible to ask for a reassessment , if so how would I go about it , any advice would be much appreciated
Thankyou .

Hi disallusioned

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

You absolutely can put in for a change of circumstances - and tell them that your condition has deteriorated. This will trigger a review and you will be sent a form to fill in and probably have to have a telephone assessment. However, before you do anything there are two documents that if you don't already you should try and get hold of.

1. The PA4- the assessment report from your assessment prior to your tribunal. (This is written by the assessor/health professional)
2. The statement of reasons from your Tribunal in 2018 - (This gives details of the tribunal and how they came to their conclusions)

You would also be wise to look at our Guide to PIP claims and reviews. It's a large document, but there is a great deal of sound advice on answering questions. Because you had to go to tribunal you need to make sure that you aren't losing out because you haven't answered fully enough.

It's perfectly fair that you have no new evidence - you just need to make sure that because you are clinically vulnerable - you make that clear in any correspondence. You also need to make it clear what help you need, even if you don't currently get it.

Hi disaillusioned

PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities.

As BIS has stated previously, have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a better understanding of the criteria you will need to meet
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

If you report a Change then you should do so in writing as the date of your letter will be used to set the start date of any new award, Ideally, send it using a Track'd post so that you have proof of delivery.

Before you report a Change you should be certain that you would reasonably qualify for a higher award, not all deterioration or even new conditions will result in your scoring the points you need for a higher award. See our PIP Claims guide for the criteria that you will need to make.

If you report a Change then you will be sent a new PIP2 to complete and it is almost certain that you will be required to have some sort of assessment.
