Sending PIP form back was created by Fuzzy
Hello,
I am finally about to send my completed PIP2 form back.
Can you advise what is the best way to return it. I notice they give you a free post 2nd class envelope but I would prefer to get some reassurance that they have received it. Because it’s a free post address can I only get a proof of posting? I wasn’t sure if I could send it as signed for when they received it?
Any advice greatly appreciated as always

Hi Karen
We always advise that people send it back with some sort of tracking. You can choose which kind at the post office.

Hi, not certain but I think someone once posted that they produced the reply paid envelope at the post office and only got charged the difference in price on the upgrade to tracked?
Worth a try, please let us know if you do, what happens!

Wish I'd thought to do that! But I did upgrade sending my daughter's form back from 2nd class to 1st class post (I was running out of time to send it back, even after a 2-week extension: only had to pay 30p, the difference between 1st and 2nd class), and have my certificate of posting (which does at least have the DWP postcode on it).
Am learning as I go along with this (massive thanks to the guys who wrote the PIP guide; it was invaluable). Once I've got my daughter's application sorted (however it turns out), I'll turn to mine - and make sure I ask to get it signed for!
