PIP Evidence was created by Gina1
I currently get enhanced daily living, I have right sided weakness, find it difficult to grip and stumble. I have seen my Neurologist for the last time as we have moved out of the area. She did the neuro exam, and I tried really hard to do what she wanted me to. This has now worked against me, as she has written ‘no neurological deficit’. Wish I had laid it on thick now, but I’m an honest person with a brain tumour, so the idea didn’t even enter my head on the day. My GP doesn’t know me. I’m worried to death now that they will think I have lied. And remove my benefits. My assessment is due any time now. Thank you for reading

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Gina
The Neurologist's report certainly is not helpful to your case as that one sentence implies that you have no functional problems. Whether you send the DWP that report is up to you when it comes to your review, but we would normally advise that people don't include information that can damage their case. Your GP may not know you, but you could ask for a new referral to Neurology and get a different report if you have difficulties that affect your daily living.

Hi BIS thanks for your response. If I don’t include it, my GP may well when CAPITA contact the surgery....or that’s my fear. My Neurosurgeon has made a referral to my local hospital, as my tumour has grown a little. Hopefully I will get an appointment soon, so we can discuss my situation and explain fully. I’m not sure whether I will be allocated a Neurologist down here, it’s all very unknown atm.
But thanks again for your advice. Much appreciated.

HI Gina
The DWP only rarely contact GPs and that is normally only when claimants haven't given enough information on their forms. If the review comes before your referral, you put on the form that you have a pending referral to a neurosurgeon as your turmour has grown and you talk about the difficulties you have with the specific PIP criteria and leave it at that!

Hi BIS. I didn’t know that they don’t contact GP as a matter of cause. That’s really good to know. I have plenty of hospirtsl report evidence, and we are always careful to send everything we have. I will make sure to leave the unhelpful letter out. Thank you so very much for your help.
