PIP: MR Request letter sample was created by VIA
Dear fellow forum members,
I am reading through the guides and was wondering if I could get help towards the PIP Mandatory
Reconsideration Request letter. Those sample letters are fantastic.
After “I request that you reconsider your decision letter dated ...”
Because I wish to enclose a pain management letter (same date as decision letter pip did not get the chance to see) and I would also like to dispute certain points, merging MR and Appeal letter samples format, do you think my following MR Request is ok:
- I request that you reconsider your decision letter dated...
- I consider that I have provided enough evidence for a decision to be made that I am entitled to PIP at the rate of ...for daily living and mobility.
I dispute the fact I was awarded standard rate for daily living and mobility.
My difficulties and limitations have been underestimated.
I will set them out below
- my brief medical history
- undisputed scores
- each disputed activity in detail...
With reference to the evidence (that was ignored previously enclosed with pip review form)
- I also wish to add the only evidence not seen by assessor, but warned that it was coming in pip form as advised to get pharmacist tel call.
Msk Pharmacist pain management letter dated .....date of pip decision
- I am also enclosing food/bathing/moving around evidence that was previously submitted with pip review form for food, bathing and moving around in case they went missing at your end, as it does not look like this evidence was taken into account
Conclusion
I believed I should have been awarded ...points if the correct descriptor for food, bathing and is moving around, is taken into account
If I may ask, does that look ok?
Thank you ever so much.
Kind wishes

Looks good to me Olympia. The only addition I might add, if it applies, is a statement that the additional evidence refers to your condition as it was when you made the application.
Wishing you the correct outcome,
Catherine

Hi
When I did my MR I referred very specifically to parts of the evidence. I had sent all my evidence as appendices and numbered every section eg appendix 1 ESA report dated xxx. Appendix 2 Blue Badge dated xxx and so on. So, when I did the MR I actually referred to a page number within a piece of evidence eg see P2 of the GP’s letter dated 25 December 2019 Appendix 4. I felt like I had to take them by the hand to show them where the relevant bits were and went probably a bit overboard but it did improve my award.
