PIP extension given then recieved an award review was created by Cericah83
Hi, don't know if this is a common one but I am confused.
Received a letter in November 2020 say the PIP award had been extended to February 2022, but 2 weeks ago received a review form to be sent back by next Monday.
This was completely out of the blue- does this mean I will have to complete another review next Feb ( which some forums have said) or can I appeal and defer until next year as the last letter said.
Before covid review date was mid-April. What do I need to do- If I had been expecting this I could have prepared better but I'm am completely in a tizzy over this?
Also, how long will phone assessments be continuing?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Ceri
You are not alone, this has happened to quite a few forum members.
No you will not have to complete a review form next Feb, unless DWP only grant you PIP for 9 months. If you do not complete the form and return it to the DWP then your benefits will stop, if you need more time then contact DWP before the due date and ask for extra time to complete the form.
Did you keep a copy of your initial form, has there been any changes in your condition, better or worse, has your medication changed, if there has been no change then use the same details as you previously used.
There may have been some changes to the PIP criteria since you were last assessed so please make use of the latest version of our PIP Claim guide

We do not yet know how long phone assessments will continue, face to face assessments we are told will be starting from May.
If you have any specific questions then please come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
