ESA Extension was created by Oni
After reading a couple of members comments regarding contacting ESA concerning a review date, I was encouraged to ring the ESA helpline today asking when my next review will be - expecting to have heard something late last year. I was told they were unable to give out that information, and the best thing to do was to wait for them to contact me, without giving any indication of when that may be.
Would it be worth ringing again to see if I get a different response from another member of staff? Any extra time between reviews is always welcome, but it would be helpful to know when my next review date will actually be.
Kind Regards

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Patrick
ESA is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment based on the Prognosis Date completed by the assessor in their report, so your existing ESA award continues in payment until a new Decision is made.
The problem members have with reviews dates concern PIP reviews.
You could ask for a copy of the assessors report called an ESA 85 if you are talking about legacy ESA or UC 85 if you are talking about New Style ESA.

Thanks, Gary
I will ring again and ask if I can have a copy of the assessors report if they will not tell me over the phone.
Just to clarify, I was referring to ESA reviews from the forum.

Hi Patrick
Let us know how you get on with the phone call, it will be interesting in hearing what they say, but as I stated earlier, ESA is an indefinite award until the claimant is re-assessed (reviewed).
ESA assessments can be anywhere from 3 months to two years for the WRAG and three years for the Support Group, you can find out when you are likely to be reassessed by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, the information will be on your computer record, or requesting a copy of the assessment report.

Hi Patrick
I was one of the posts you mentioned
I think it depends on the person at the DWP who answers your call, as we know some are far more helpful than others!!!, the lady my carer spoke to was very helpful but my carer did explain i suffered with severe Anxiety which the DWP are aware of and it had been documented by my GP to them, hence one of the reasons for the call, so I would try again and hopefully the next person will be of help.
Good luck
Best Wishes
