PIP Phone Tribunal was created by hedgehoglady
Hello, I am wondering if someone can help.

My friend was meant to have her telephone PIP tribunal last week, however that didnt happen.
When they were 30minutes late I advised her to ask her partner to call for an update, and she was then advised someone would get back to them within 20minutes to either go ahead, or rebook. Her partner at this point asked them to confirm the number they had for her. It was the correct one so they left it there. No one called. I had advised her to call again, but she was in such a distressed state she was unable to and her partner was trying to look after her.

Today they decidedto call again to find out what is going on. Now i dont know if it was the DWP or Tribunal Service but the reason given today was that the number they used was incorrect. They got the number wrong by 1 digit and now say they dont know if an outcome was decided or if the case was dropped, but she is at fault because whoever called didnt get her number right.

Hardly seems fair that shes being blamed for something completely out of her control, and she had confirmed her details when she chased and confirmed them. She sat for an hour and a half in her bathroom as that is the one place that has decent phone signal in her home.

Since shes had a rough time with her health and as much as this is not my problem, she relies on me a lot and this is affecting my health and conditions so the sooner I can tell her what she needs to do the sooner i can focus on my health again

Hello Aimee,

I don’t know if you are aware but your full name seems to be showing. If you wish to change that, here is a link to the instructions to change it.

My full name is showing, how can I stop it.

I would recommend a letter to the tribunal service laying out exactly what you have put in your post.

Your friend should have received a bundle of papers prior to the scheduled tribunal hearing have you checked if her phone number is correctly recorded on her PIP2 form, on which she made her initial application, and the SSCS1 form on which she requested the tribunal reviewed her application? If it is right on these two forms then it is clearly an administrative error by the tribunal service.

Well done for stepping up and helping your friend in this way, but please do remember to also look after yourself!
