Terminal cancer and care charges was created by ourkid
My 90 year old Aunt is on Attendance Allowance and has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has been told it will cost her nearly £170 a week for 3 half hour care visits which is not enough but surely she would qualify for fast-track CHC wouldn't she? If so she wouldn't have to pay for her care would she? She will probably have to give up the Attendance Allowance but am I right in thinking that otherwise she should get the care she needs with no charge?

Hello, apologies for being morbid, but may be useful to know that my sister [Mum's executor] was able to recoup Continuing Healthcare money to offset private nursing home fees Mum had paid, some time well AFTER Mum died.

They do offer guides for sale but there is useful free advice in their blogs too. And you might think a book worth the investment, like the B&W sub.
best wishes with sorting this out, Denby
