PIP review turnaround time? was created by originalgoldengirl
I know this is a 'how long is a piece of string?' type question, but looking for an idea of how long PIP reviews are taking to process at the moment. I submitted mine on 18 January and still haven't heard anything. Dreading the reply but also stressed at waiting!

Hi Liz

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You are correct it is a 'how long is a piece of string?' type question, prior to Covid-19 it was taking 6 - 8 weeks, from the forum we are hearing various times from a few weeks to over 6 months and up to a year, hence my reply.

You may want to contact DWP and ask if they have received your review as it could be sitting there waiting for input. The best time to contact DWP is first thing in the morning when they open, they should open up at 8:00 am.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Gary. I'll brace myself for the long wait and give them a call when I can face it lol.

I have changed my profile too.

Braced myself for the long wait on hold, and called DWP (who I discovered now don't open until 9am!). They received my review form on 19 January but I was told they were waiting for ATOS or whatever they call themselves nowadays to send a date for a telephone assessment. Told me to call ATOS. They said they had received the form but were waiting for an assessor to look at it, no word of a telephone assessment. The nervous wait continues. Being very discouraged by reports on the email of people hearing so quicly!

Hi originalgoldengirl

It's awful when you are waiting such a long time and you hear of some people getting a reply in a matter of a few weeks. It probably doesn't feel like it, but long waiting times are more common than short. I hope you get to hear soon.

Hi I'm in similar position and also sent my review form mid Jan ..
I did get a text in Feb to say they have received it .
I posted similar post few days ago here and someone said that they had been waiting 16 wks and people are waiting much longer .

I may call DWP but I'm sure they get sick of people calling and asking the same thing .
Still I may call them if I can face the hours spent on hold .

Agree waiting is a stress but it will also be so when the next process arrives so ...
I just conclude it's all a stress and try and keep it in the day and be greatful for the money I am living with now
