Are tribunals going ahead in person? was created by smonkey
Hi there - I want the opportunity to go to to tribunal. I am currently in the process of countering the points made in the mandatory recon letter.
They want such specific info online that it makes me think I'm not going to be able to get my chance to go in front of the panel.
Are the going ahead or not?
Also just want to say that the decision has made me physically sick and they've completely lied and dismissed me. I'm sure this comes as no surprise to many people.

Hi smonkey
Have a look at our news letter dated 29th March 2021.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/4363-pip-...s-to-resume-from-may
The DWP is reintroducing face-to-face assessments for some PIP, ESA and UC claimants from May 2021. The DWP say this will initially only be for claimants who cannot be fully assessed by other means.

Smonkey, so sorry to hear this but as you say no surprise. Please consider reporting the results of the ill treatment to your doctor and asking them very specifically to add it to your notes. Also maybe involve your MP.
Best wishes for getting the hearing you want and success by whichever method.

Hi Gary, thank you but this is about tribunals rather than assessments. I want to go to tribunal in person and not have it decided based on paperwork.

Hi smonkey
I haven't heard of anyone having a face to face tribunal since the pandemic. We've had a few people talking about the phone appeals and one person who had a video appeal (which are being trialled.)
