Hi ccc,

I would just add to what LL has put that communicating with the assessor also does not count as a social interaction, since they are medical health professionals.

Hi LL26,

Thanks for your reply, its very informative.

Is it worth mentioning or pointing out case law on a pip review form, that is only if its relevant.

Then they would assume that i know a bit more hence they wont be pulling the wool over my eyes too easily. Or would i be going too far?

regards.

Hi Mr Fibrospondodythmatic,
I wouldn't bother actually mentioning actual caselaw on a PIP form, but definitely for an appeal. I don't think that the assessors or decision makers genuinely know the law in any great detail and hence not sure it would help, or it might come across as being a bit cocky.
Of course explain in more generic terms such as 'I can't do this safely and in a reasonable time because...'or 'I need an aid or appliance...' or 'I use X as an an aid to help with...'
I doubt that even if you explained the correct law that an assessor would engage in a discussion with you. I'm sure you would probably get 0 points if you tried.
This is my view anyway!
