I recently was contacted from the compliance team, and they advised me that I should apply for sdp and backpay, which I knew nothing about. I applied for it and got an award plus some backpay was awarded.
I ask them to look at the year of 2016 for backpay, they came back with I shouldn't of received any back pay there was an official error, because it was an official error I didn't have to pay any backpay back to the dwp. Im still not sure what the official error was, they did mention something along the line that my son was in receipt of pip and I didn't inform them, I didn't know I had too. also they said something about a notable change?
My Son was told to apply for SDP by the dwp, he has been awarded the sdp, but no back pay. what could the reason be? I haven't had any change in my circumstances, he has been getting the same benefit has myself esa/pip. please can you advise what steps I should take. im totally confused by it, I don't want to keep calling the dwp up, it is such an effort to get through.
