Where do I go for help when interacting with DWP. I don't react well when speaking to other people due to my disabilities. I need someone to speak up for me as I feel I am missing out on what I am entitled to. I find it hard to get my thoughts over and I panic and muddle up what I need to say. I have different diagnosis. Chronic PTSD, Recurring Depressive Disorder, Dyslexia and Adult ADHD. DWP have all this medical information. Please help.

Hello Dennis,

Unfortunately we are not able to give you that sort of help. If you have a friend or family member who are willing to speak to the DWP on your behalf that is permissible, but you might find it best to seek a local advisor. This link is the best we have to help you find someone.

You might also find it useful to check out the benefit calculators which are on this page.

www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

They might point out some benefits you are potentially missing out on.

I have just found this information on the NHS website.
"Contact social services at your local council and ask about advocacy services. Find your local social services.

POhWER is a charity that helps people to be involved in decisions being made about their care. Call POhWER's support centre on 0300 456 2370 for advice.

The Advocacy People gives advocacy support. Call 0330 440 9000 for advice or text PEOPLE to 80800 and someone will get back to you.

VoiceAbility gives advocacy support. Call their helpline on 0300 303 1660 for advice or use VoiceAbility's online referral form."

I hope it helps.
