Assessors Report was created by Jo Rose
2day I received my report from my assessment on 20/4, it was requested when I got the txt to say they had the report but no1 did anything with the request so I asked again Monday & it arrived 2day.
I'm absolutely gutted, she has awarded me a total of 4 points despite me being previously awarded at tribunal enhanced on everything. The report insinuates that bcoz I have no psychiatric input or social sevices input I must be coping!
I have depression & anxiety thru birth trauma & altho my lo is nearly 3 the previous theraples I av received only helped a little but then my Mum(rock) contracted Covid battled in hospital for nearly 9wks n died.Since then my mh has taken a nose dive, there are discrepancies in the report & altho I know this isn't the dwp decision I'm not at all optimistic! I had to fight for 18mths last time & had Mum every step of the way pushing me.I have a really good support network (from a big family) so that's why I haven't needed external help.Since my initial claim I've also began self harming no suicidal tendencies tho but yet I'm apparently ok.
Should I start preparing for an MR? Has there been any changes in descriptors since April 2019?
Any advice or pointers would be greatfully received.
TIA

Hello Jo and I am so sorry to hear about Mum, particularly on top of everything else you are having to deal with.

I would strongly recommend that you send in a copy of the tribunal decision to the PIP office now, before the decision is made. Put a simple letter with it which says something like

‘I have received a copy of the PA4 form following my recent assessment. This is not a request for a Mandatory Reconsideration but I wish to state that I disagree with the recommended scores the assessor has put on the PA4.

It is well known that mental health services do not have the resources to give ongoing psychiatric input when it is having little positive benefit and I feel that I have been unfairly assessed because this is my position and because I have a very supportive family which provide the help I would otherwise receive from Social Services.

My previous claim was considered by a tribunal on (insert date) and I enclose a copy of their decision. My condition has got worse since then and I request that you take the tribunal’s decision into consideration when making your recommendation. ‘

And yes, although you should be hopeful that the decision maker will not follow the assessor’s opinion, it would be wise to start psyching yourself up for submitting a MR. (Sorry about that.)

So I sent off the docs & a covering letter & received a text yesterday to say they now had the assessors report ..... should hear from them within 8 wks.
What they actually received was my letter etc (I know this bcoz I sent recorded delivery) Does this mean my 8 wks start again?
My assessment was 20/4 so theoretically I'm nearly half way thru the initial time period they stated.
Advice plz. TIA

Hi Jo

Yes, the eight weeks starts from the date on their letter. However, it is quite possible you will hear sooner.
