Thanks for the reply.

I think I understand what you are getting at regarding the mouse. In my mind, it is different. I've used keyboard and mouse for years (my parents had me on computers from a young age so its second nature to use them.) A knife would be a different story. Given I didn't start really trying to cook until 2018, I never developed kitchen skills. Not to mention there is a difference between a blunt keyboard and mouse and a sharp object with the ability to slice my fingers off.

My letter currently stands at a page and a half focusing on the three concerns I mentioned - my mental health, my dyspraxia and my fear of heat. I was about to print it but in the letter, I haven't stated my case regarding mouse vs knife. Instead, I went to the main point the HP made that I had provided no evidence of problems with spatial awareness or lack of hand-eye-coordination. So the case I'm making is that given that dyspraxia is a developmental coordination disorder those issues would be expected so his recommendation shows a poor understanding of dyspraxia (at least in my opinion.) and that the difficulties I outlined regarding dressing and preparing food are those I share with many dyspraxics.

I can add a bit regarding mouse vs knives if you think it is worth it and would add to my case but I'm conscious of the advice in "Ways to Challenge a PIP Medical Report" where it advises not to overdo it.

Sorry if I'm asking more than is reasonable to answer without knowing my full case. I'm just a little stressed as you can imagine it.

Hello applecharlie,

I am sure that I did get it wrong in my example about mouse v knife, I was just trying to give you an example of the sort of thing you could write. Unfortunately I don’t know what difficulties you have, but you are clearly good at explaining things, so I have every expectation that you will do a great job of it!

I do think that if the assessor has implied that because you can use a mouse you can do all sorts of other things you should include this in your letter. It is very reminiscent of what assessors often say – this person can drive a car, therefore they can cook, wash, dress etc etc unaided.

I can fully understand you being stressed. It is stressful at the best, and when someone seems to almost perverse in not understanding your condition it makes it so much worse. But once again, well done for doing the right things and fighting for the correct award!

Thanks once again. The letter is now posted. As suggested in the other thread, I sent a copy of my tribunal decision with the letter. I can only pray that common sense prevails because I really cannot be doing with the stress of another MR and Tribunal.

Today I have received a 2nd text message to say they have received my written report. What are the chances that a 2nd PA4 was done by the HP?

I cannot call DWP right now as my doctor is due to call any time now,

Hi Applecharlie

I can't say for certain, but it's not very likely. It's just you requested the report before the message was sent out. The only way a report would be updated is if the decision-maker decides the first report they received was not good enough - but that's not something they advertise when it happens.

Coming back to update you as my decision has come through.

As suspected, they have gone with the exact recommendations of the health professional. No reference made about the letter I sent in outlining the mistaking in the report. In fact, the decision-maker has quoted parts of the report which my letter advised were incorrect.

My appointment with Citizen's Advice is this week. I'll make a start on my MR and see what they recommend. Angry is not the word for it.
