New Style ESA to Support Group was created by MrH2020
Hi I applied for New Style earlier on in the year and I was sent the dreaded ESA50 to list my medical problems.
I later got a letter stating that I had been placed into the support group, which will start in July which I see works out 13 weeks after I got awarded New Style ESA due to contributions as I just finished work in January.
Some money gets taken off me due to me having already taken a pension my question is as my savings were not taken into account with being on New Style ESA will they when I move to the Support Group as I have more than £6000 in savings.

Hi MrH2020

If you are only receiving New Style ESA then a lump sum will not affect your NS ESA but a regular payment will. If the pension is more then £85/week then there will be a £1/week deduction for every £2 in excess of the £85.

As you are in receipt of NS ESA which is a contribution based benefit, then your savings are not taken into account, as you have been placed in the support group/ LCWRA then your payment will be paid until you are next re-assessed.
