Hello there, I am a recepient of ESA Support Group for mental health. Unfortunatelly over the last year I have been living in a property where constant harassment and threats affected my recovery and day to day functioning. I have some medical evidence from the consultant explaining my difficult situation but following recent incident of harassment due to my disability housing association gave me a letter 'Homelessness or thretened with homelessnes and it says this is because countinous harrassment and intimidation from the neighbours, unsafe property. I am not sure if I will not end up homeless and I was wondering if in the future (August) I have interview with DWP I could attach this letter as part of my evidence even though it's not strictly medical but helps to understand what I experience on a daily basis and completes my psychiatric reviews, would it be woth a try? as I am alone with all of this.

Thank you,
A

Hi Agis,
Unfortunately we do not offer advice in respect of housing problems. Maybe phone up your Housing Association to ask for clarification and depending what they say you may need to phone up the Housing Office at your local council office. You may need to get an urgent appointment at CAB or similar to sort out your housing.
The letter from the Housing Association could well be evidence that you have been harassed. Unfortunately I can not comment as I haven't seen the letter. However, if you are rehoused, this might work against you as DWP could say, well you moved away now so you won't get anxious any more. (This may not be true, but it is almost certainly something DWP will say!) So perhaps don't send in the letter yet. It can always be sent in later.
Good luck.

Hi Agis. In respect to your housing, this letter will ensure you receive ‘High Priority’ with other housing associations and the council so you can move home more quickly. Ask your current HA to help you find somewhere suitable, or look and apply online.

Hi, after my sister died ( unexpectedly) my niece had problems staying in her mothers social housing. We turned to Shelter who are brilliant in these situations and specialise in housing law. Here's their on line info. Good luck and don't give up - we've waited 4 years but had legal aid to challenge the local councils inconsistent decision process that could have left my niece on the street were it not for Shelter. england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/homelessness
