Hello

In the years to come all legacy benefit claimants will have make a claim for Universal Credit at some point in the future.

To make a claim for Universal Credit you need to have to have an interview at Jobcentre Plus to confirm identity and sign a Claimant Commitment to process the claim. I have not seen anything that explains the process while on an exisiting legacy benefit and then mirgrating.

Would this process apply to legacy claimants on ESA Support Group when they are finally invited to claim Universal Credit? would old legacy claimant to ESA support group be required to go to Jobcentre Plus for the Interviews or would they be exempt from this part of the claim due to the previously exisiting claim to ESA Support Group, when there was no requirement to go to any appointments at Jobcentre Plus. Obviously no one has been invited by DWP to migrate over to UC yet, but those who have had a big change in circumstances are being migrated over to UC, has anyone been on ESA and in the Support Group been migrated over to UC and what was your experiences of the migration like, did you have to go to Jobcentre Plus for an ID interview or to sign the claimant commitment was this not needed? I hope other board members can help? anyway thanks for reading my post.
