DWP confirmation of Mandatory Reconsideration ?

Hi,
I recently put in a Mandatory Reconsideration request on a PIP decision using the appropriate form, and sent it in by recorded delivery. Tracking shows it was received by their office a few days after sending it, and with four days still remaining on the month-long submission limit.

The form itself claims that they will text or write to you confirming receipt of your request, but does this actually ever happen in practice? It has now been a month since I sent it in but I've heard absolutely nothing from them.

I know that one of their favourite tricks is to claim that they've never received your form or simply lost it, but I'm loath to call them as I suffer from chronic social anxiety (and I requested they didn't contact me directly by phone because of it).

Hi Wobblin

Notifications that items have been received has been problematic through the pandemic. The only way you can confirm is to ring and ask. I know you requested for them not to contact you by phone - but it doesn't mean you can't contact them or get someone else (of they're available) to ring on your behalf.

Hi, didn't someone else say they had found out there was a four week backlog in the processing of incoming mail - which I understand is done by off-site subcontractors? Could explain this and many other claimants' sufferings of hearing nothing for weeks if true.

Hi denby

Catherine mentioned it in a previous post during the last session.

Ah, thanks.

In that case I will leave it just a little longer before I have to summon up the courage to ring them, then :)
