A Current PIP - Tribunal Awarded, (Award end-date expires soon). Triggered a review by AR1 request to the DWP, which has been declined. The explanation given by the DWP “The current award was made by Tribunal, to a fixed end-date. The award was not made by the DWP”. The DWP now notifies, to continue benefit … “A completely new PIP2 application needs to be made”.
My question … Is this DWP information correct?

Unfortunately Llywelyn, it is. And yes, it does feel really unfair, and unfortunately you are not alone in experiencing this. You are however free to include the tribunal’s decision as part of your evidence.

If you have not already used our guides, we do recommend them for making the best possible claim.

Did you get to have a telephone assessment too? Then they decided that, or did they just promptly respond to your form without an assessment?

I had a tribunal win and got that smaller form to fill in, ie; the any changes one (forget what it's called). Then had a telephone assessment, so waiting for results. At no time has it been said that I have to reapply because it was a tribunal win.

Hi Judy

We do hear mixed messages on the forum, quite a few members claims have stopped as they have not contacted DWP to renew their claim, others have been sent a letter informing them that their claim has been extended.

Unfortunately there is no consistency, our advice to claimants who win at a tribunal is make a note of the date of the award and then to contact DWP a few months before the award runs out.
