Hi there, my assessment is on Thursday and I've been awake panicking since three this morning.
Apologies if the answers to these questions are obvious- I'm not thinking straight.
The appointment form says I'll be called between 9am to 10am. Does that mean the call will come during that time or is scheduled to last for that time?
I'm also looking at my new medical evidence dating between my last paper assessment in 2017 and the start of the lockdowns in early 2020.
I have multiple conditions, so there's a fair bit of it. It's all for conditions that they are aware of and already have evidence for. The new stuff is about worsening or progression of existing conditions/new treatments/ discharged from clinic because surgery the only option but not possible in my case etc.
I'll try to update the assessor during the call, but I'm wondering when to submit copies. I'm minded to wait until after the decision when I receive the assessor's report so I know what I'm aiming for if a MR is necessary (God forbid).
Finally (I think), there's construction work happening at my building at the moment and the noise is horrendous. If the noise is disrupting the call do they have a procedure?
Thanks

Hi Shemarie,
Unfortunately I don't know whether DWP mean the call will last an hour from 9am, or the call will commence sometime between 9am to 10am. Sometimes if course the assessor is running late. However this could be the first call of the morning so hopefully it should be on time.
Be ready for 9am with a cup of tea or water. Have a pen and paper too. Have a copy of the claim/renewal form with you to refer to.
I don't know what the procedure is if there is too much noise. I guess if you can't hear properly or can't concentrate you should say so, and that might mean that the assessment could get postponed (But of course there might still be noise next time!!) Can you perhaps pop round to a friend's house? If not choose the quietest room away from the noise.
Make sure you tell the assessor about all conditions and how they affect you. It is important to mention that you DO get treatment but its on hold due to Covid.
Good luck!

Hi,
Just had my assessment. It went on for 1hr 20 mins. Practically all of that was centred round a couple of descriptors. He suddenly said 'right, we've got enough information' without touching on any of my other conditions... wasn't much interested in bringing it up to date from the form in 2017.
Didn't factor in lockdown disruptions. Kept banging on about meds list. The implication was that I couldn't be in pain because I wasn't receiving injections... I was trying to discuss my other conditions but he wasn't interested. Feeling sick...I really can't take much more of this.

Hi Shemarie
I'm sorry that your assessment wasn't a very positive experience. By Monday you should be able to ring up and ask for a copy of the assessment report (PA4) if you want it.
Many of the assessors these days are fixated on medication and the quantities people take.
Assessors don't always go through all the descriptors because they sometimes make the judgement that they already have enough information.
I hope that you have a positive outcome.

Thanks BIS,
I thought the PA4 was for PIP? Sorry, I'm a bit dazed.
