UC LCWRA was created by FieldL2015
Hi I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this in previous threads and i do apologise if they have but i wanted to know how long a LCWRA in Universal Credit is awarded for? I Transferred from ESA IR to UC 5 months ago, and they automatically added LCWRA to my claim from the start as i was in the support group under ESA. I did get sent a UC50 but i think they did this in error, as i was told the day after they recieved it and got my supporting evidence they sent it back to the DWP saying no assessment was required, but didnt put a time limit on when i would be assessed or if i would be assessed again. I have multiple issues physically and mentally and i also get the highest rate of PIP for both on an ongoing award, so i dont know if this means i would not be reassessed under UC again, Like they said people with severe conditions wouldnt be under ESA? I hope i have made sense? Any advice would help, thanks in advance.

Hi LewBoy

ESA/UC is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment, this can be done at any time once three months have elapsed from a previous Decision.

You could ask DWP for a copy of the assessors report (UC 85) which may give details of when they will re-assess you. A lot members don't like doing this as they don't want to remind DWP that they may be due for a new assessment, until you are re-assessed then your claim will stay in payment.

The guidance for case managers (AKA decision makers) says that an 'ongoing' award is one where planned intervention would happen after no more than 10 years from the award date.

When it comes to so-called 'unplanned' reviews, thee years sounds about right.
