Hi,

You are not stupid, as I for one feel exactly the same way.
How can they expect claimants who suffer with social anxieties attend an F2F.

Its a dammed if you do dammed if you don't scenario, hence leaves the claimant no choice but to go to a tribunal.

1 - f2f means you can socialize.
2 - home visit means in the assessors opinion, they came to your home you coped well, hence no trembling, no distress, no shaking etc, means you can socialize.

I find this activity and the planning a route journey are the hardest activities to score points on, even with a good GP support letter, and other specialist reports.

If you have or not getting any input say from a psychiatrist, or a mental health nurse, your pretty much with zero points for those activities. Even though one suffers badly with anxiety issues.

I'm in the same boat with activity planning a journey - following a route. And I'm at a point doing my PIP review activity 11, whereas I cannot find a way around it to make a good case for this activity 11.

Thanks for your read,

good luck to all.

Hello mrfibrospondodysthmatic

I fully agree with what you are saying. Just a quick thought......

You said "2 - home visit means in the assessors opinion, they came to your home you coped well, hence no trembling, no distress, no shaking etc, means you can socialize."

I do not know if I am right hear so a mod can correct me but on your claim form you could state that your home is your "Safe haven" where you do not suffer from social anxiety and you feel confident and safe but any enviroment outside my home which involved social interaction would cause serious distress.

I say this because I suffer with mental health problems and anxiety and I can only travel to places where I am safe (my safe zone) and anywhere outside my safe zone I suffer extreme phsycological distress. I would like to state that I am not claiming PIP or have not put a claim in for PIP myself.

Just a few thoughts :)

Thanks for the kind support, Mr.

The whole process of waiting for a result from the review form I sent in, as expected, has completely taken over my life.

I go to bed thinking about it and as soon as I get up my heart is in my mouth every time I hear a noise thinking it might be the post.

I sent the form plus package back promising myself that I'd forget about it once I'd posted it.

Easier saud than done, and so I am in a state and a half and just praying that it will be sorted ASAP.

Regards,

Phrank.

Hi Waxwing,

Your reply to my "2" was a very good example, It's logical and makes a lot of sense.

ie your home is a safe haven therefore your behaviour with an assessor in your home is different than being in a non safe haven environment.

Lots of good sound advice in the forum, much needed and appreciated.

Regards, and good luck to all.

Hi,

I'd never thought of it like that. Although I would be in a really bad place anxiety wise with a home visit, I probably would feel better than having to go to an assessment centre.

Mind you last time I had an assessment the assessor put down that I coped fine even though I was in s right tangle.

Phrank.
