blue badge? was created by Colin
Hi, does someone know if a blue badge can entitle you to disabled car tax class.
Or is it only through PIP mobility.
Thanks.

Hi ccc
It is not the blue badge that entitles you to vehicle tax exemption, you have to be in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
Vehicle tax exemption
Eligibility
You can apply for exemption from paying vehicle tax if you get the:
higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement
Armed Forces Independence Payment
The vehicle must be registered in the disabled person’s name or their nominated driver’s name.
It must only be used for the disabled person’s personal needs. It cannot be used by the nominated driver for their own personal use. www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-tax-exemption-disability

Hiya,
If you are in receipt of PIP Standard Rate Mobility Component you can claim 50% reduction in Vehicle Tax.
Tried it once, and it is such a pain I didn't bother again.

Hi, the problem is the expansion of ulez. and the only way to keep your none compliant car is to have a disabled tax class. (or have enough funds to buy a compliant car) TFL have done nothing for those who can do upto 200mts but all for 50mts.
tottaly ridicules. they aint thought it out properly.
i need my car as i cant walk more then the 4point criteria.
i told them cant go anywhere i dont know without someone like going to 3 of there centres in the past. they just ignored it.
thanks.
