LEAP LETTER

LEAP LETTER was created by Black Dahlia
In 2016 when I was transferred from DLA to PIP I had my standard mobility component removed despite having had it for years for overwhelming psychological distress when travelling to places and needing support ..

I have never received said LEAP letter.

I asked for MR and nothing changed so I went to tribunal and was awarded the higher rate care component but still no mobility component.
I was advised to give up trying and settle for that for fear of further jeopardising my claim
Now I have just completed my PIP review papers and pointed out that still have the need for a standard mobility component.
I have heard nothing so far.

Clearly I never even received a LEAP letter.
Can I get this if I ask the DWP and would I go about that ?

Hi Black Dahlia

Because your award was decided at Tribunal and they decided at that time that you were not eligible for the mobility because of OPD I think you will find that you will not be part of the Leap Review, because there is an assumption that the panel would have understood the change in the law. However, you can always ring the DWP and ask.
