PIP Review.. Payment but no letter? was created by LisaE
Hello
Just curious about our situation and to be honest a little worried.
A DWP PIP review was sent to me to fill in March for my daughter (she is currently awarded high rate care/low mobility but there have been changes and a new diagnosis)
Just under two weeks later (3rd June) a random payment of £326 was paid into her account, then the usual payment on the 10th but instead of £445 (approx numbers here) it was £608.
No letter followed.
I rang the helpline, a chap told me the letter had not been sent out, and he would contact the decision maker.
That was last Tuesday, still no letter.
Should I be worried?
Can a PIP decisions be reversed?
As ridiculous as that last question is, it's really playing on my mind and I just want to see this letter..
Thank you in advance.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi LisaG
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work .
From what you have been paid I would say that your daughter has been awarded the enhanced for both components as this would equate to £608.60. The £326 could be a back payment.
On the forum we have heard similar stories, eventully a letter usually does turn up.
A PIP decision can always be revised but you usually need to be re-assessed first.

Hi LisaG,
I had money paid into the bank first with a MR, the letter followed a few days later. But after the tribunal I got a call from DWP about the money. 10 days later I had a letter from the tribunal. A week later 2 letters arrived from DWP. It took a further 3 days for the money to be paid into the bank. I was the same as you, I just wanted something in writing. Hope the wait’s not too long.

Thank you Gary
I guess patience is the key..
I have now read on another thread (from another member) that the DWP are working with skeleton staff, so delays are to be expected, given the situation.
Thank you for your reply.

Hi Bud
Thanks for your reply.
I'm glad your claim has been sorted out but what a shame you had to go through a tribunal!
The stress of claiming PIP is unbelievable isn't it, it's no surprise that so many people give and end up in poverty and worse! So good for you for pressing forward with your claim
I am sure a letter will follow for us soon.
Take Care
Lisa
