Hello I am seeking clarity and advice. My son's friend, who is autistic as is my son. Went to a UC tribunal where he was award 15 points for his WCA and told that he was significantly restricted for work purposes. However he has been placed in a preparation for work group. Is this correct? My understanding has always been that 15 points placed you into the support group. Although I know there is no support work in UC. This is making my son's friend ill and I am worried that my son may end up in a work preparation group at some point. Which he simply would not cope with. Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately getting into LCWRA, the UC version of the Support Group, is not based on total number of points.
Do have a look at our guide - the first one on this page. url=https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1] UC & ESA resources [/url]
Page 21 details circumstances which give you entry to LCWRA regardless of your score, and Page 26 details which activities and which score for those activites gives you entry.
