Help regarding LEAP review was created by Jot
My PIP reassessment is due 17th July. As part of completing the form I rejoined this site and for the very first time heard about the LEAP review. I checked my paperwork and I did get a letter saying they had looked at my info and nothing had changed. Nothing was mentioned about LEAP and it was only mentioned over the page about the change in mobility assessment/scoring.
I have always been and continue to be terrified and physically nauseous when a brown letter arrives from the DWP. I was just so relieved when I read 'no change' that I didn't read any further and didn't think there was any more to read. I now obviously know this was not the case.
From reading the new criteria I think that it may apply to me and thus disagree with their decision.
I obviously have not contested this within a month (because I did not know what it was or it's importance). From reading on here I think I am right in saying I could still apply for a MR up to 13 months following??.
The pickle I find myself in is that I don't know what I should be saying or doing given that my review paperwork is due in in 10 days time. Do I send an accompanying letter explaining this?....Should I include or reference this within my review paperwork?...Does this have to be dealt with/documented as a completely separate entity?.
Any help would be very, very much appreciated
Thankyou

Hi Jot
You need to treat these as two seperate entities. The nasty brown envelopes have now turned white.
If you follow the link below it will tell you what you need to know about completing the PIP review, treat the review as a new claim.

In regards to LEAP have a look at our newsletter dated 23/06/21: www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/4403-23-june-2021-update

Hi Jot, if you need more time to complete the review form you can ring and ask for an extension , they are usually willing to do that. I rang recently and was given an extra 2 weeks to return my form with no problem . Try ringing as soon as they open at 9am and they seem to answer more quickly then. Best wishes
