No ESA increase was created by Rosie45**
I was initially on I.Benefit which started 30 years ago, and then was transferred to ESA. The amount hasn't gone up in all that time. The DWP say , the reason for this is, I was placed on a higher rate to begin with and it won't increase until other people have caught up with me.
Does this sound right please? It doesn't seem fair to me.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Northern Lass
I'm sorry, but your question is outside the scope of the forum. We can't comment on what people receive because of individual circumstances. You can always ring the DWP again and see if you are told the same thing again. There are caps to many of the benefits.

Hi. Look at the current rates of ESA (Support Group) adding Severe Disability
Premium if you are eligible. If you get more than this you will not get an increase until it matches. From then on you will get the annual increases (usually pence).

Hi Angel
Northern Lass may also be eligible for an ED premium depending on their circumstances.
