Pip assessments cancelled last minute was created by blueshouter
After waiting 23 weeks for a pip review assessment and much anxiety I was due my telephone assessment yesterday.
It was cancelled 15 minutes before appointment saying the assessor had been called away. I find it totally unacceptable how they treat claimants with mental health issues. It's been rebooked for 2 weeks time
Is this a common occurrence?

Hello blueshouter,
It is something we hear of quite often in this forum. Now I suspect that we tend to hear about things when they go wrong rather than when they run as they should do, so it is hard to say how common this problem is. What is however clear is that, unfortunately, you are not alone.

Hi blueshouter, I agree it's disgusting as a way to treat anyone. Have you asked for them to record your telephone assessment? If not, you could do, or at least make plans to record it yourself, or have a friend sit in and do the recording. Better safe than sorry IMHO on having this in case of argument later....Meantime if this has upset you feel free to let your doctor know to put it in your notes.
