PIP REVIEW was created by Lorraine
My PIP award was extended until August 2022. However in May I received my review form. I completed this using your guidance. I have a new diagnosis Functional neurological disorder. This affects me in many ways. I sent the form back with the letter from my consultant.on the 10 June..yesterday I spoke to a very nice helpful lady at the DWP she spoke to a decision maker advised that because of my new diagnosis the decision maker had referred me to the health care providers .and that it had been sent to them on the 20th June and that they would be in touch. I thanked her and ended the call. About 10mins later I had a call from a Decision maker she said she was sorry and that I had been given the wrong information, my case hadn’t been sent the assessors yet but was being held along with many others in a holding que, the
Independent assessment providers were so far behind that those awards that had been extended would probably not be forwarded to the assessors for months and I wasn’t to worry as any increase in my award would be backdated until May when the review was triggered. She was lovely and put my mind at ease. Has anyone else been given this information .

Hi Lorraine

The information you were given is correct. We've had a couple of members recently who have had a large amount backdated to them because of an increased award at review that has taken so long to process. Just remember this only happens if the assessor agrees a claimant's needs have increased.

Hi Lorraine
I, like you had an extension letter followed by a review form in June. I completed this and sent off with all my backup as per the brilliant advice here. I have just received my letter in the post telling me I have been awarded enhanced for both mobility and daily living until 2024 without a face to face assessment. This is a huge relief as first time around I had to fight DWP and Capita all the way to tribunal, only to be told on the day of the hearing that the panel had looked at my case and awarded me enhanced on both and I didn’t have to attend.
I hope you have similar good luck and your reply comes through soon, but don’t ever give up, keep at them.

Hi Mich

Absolutely delighted to hear that you have been awarded your enhanced PIP award. Great news. Thank you for your kind words, we do have some very good forum members offering sound advice through their experience.

You can now relax for a while and even offer some advice to fellow members on the forum from a positive angle.;)
