New claim wait times was created by Bernadette
Hello Yall
I am sure this topic has been covered before. Oh, first time poster
The DWP officially received my application on 11.05.2021. Is there still a chance that this will be reviewed with in 14 weeks? I have not been invited to an assessment yet either. The waiting is maddening. I appreciate your help

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Bernadette
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
It's almost impossible for us to give you any accurate idea of waiting times. The DWP have said they are prioritising new applications. Were you told 14 weeks? We know they have had a computer glitch that may have slowed things, but personally, I would give them a ring and ask what the status of your claim is.

Hello Bis,
Thank you kindly for your response. I believe I read 14 weeks somewhere. I didn't know we could call and ask for the status of a claim. I will defo do that tomorrow. Thanx again.

Hello, are we allowed to phone the assessor to see when are appointment will be made? The DWP gave me their number but the recording states that we shouldn't ask when our appointments will be made...

Hi Bernadette,
There is nothing to be lost by asking! Even if they are not able to tell you when your appointment will be they might be willing to tell you how long you are likely to have to wait.
