Anyone know what this DWP text means? was created by Francesca
Hi

I claimed uc in mid April and have provided two fit for work notes, the latest is untill 15 Oct.
I returned a wca form on 10 June.
I received a text today saying ' we have received your fit for work note and details of your assessment. Your esa (it's actually uc) will continue to be paid and you do not have to send anymore fit for work notes'

I asked about this on my journal, as I have not actually had an assessment yet, but was told the text was wrong and I did need to continue to supply fit notes.

Can anyone tell me what the text might have meant I'm finding it totally confusing?
Thanks.

Hello Francesca,

I would agree with you - totally confusing.

The text would suggest that they have carried out a paper based assessment and reached a conclusion.

Fortunately you don't have to worry about providing another fit note until October by which time the confusion should be sorted out. I suspect that you have simply heard by text before the person reading your journal has been informed. Give it a few days or a week to settle down and then if you have not had anything in writing give the DWP a ring. (You could do that straight away, but most people don't enjoy sitting on hold for ages.)

I hope it is good news,
Catherine
