I am claiming Universal Credit and the Limited Capacity for Work and Work Related Activity component (LCWWRA) since January 2018. I was notified in April that I had to undergo a review and I completed a UC50 form (Work Capability Assessment) & was told by a UC operative online that this probably wouldn't be like a full assessment (as I am already severely disabled and am going on 64 years of age). I was told they wouldn't cut my money until or unless they deemed me "capable of work". They also said if I need to know anything about this paperwork I would have to contact the Centre for Disability Assessment directly on some 0800 number. Question: can you tell me will I actually be notified, when the process is complete (even if there's no changes)? and... When might I expect that to happen? Thanks in advance.
Yes, you should receive a letter when the process is completed, but I'm afraid, we are unable to give you any sort of timesacle. The DWP have had IT problems and we know because of Covid there is a backlog of benefits cases. The only way you can find out is to ring and enquire and see how far they have progressed your case.
