War Pension lump sum and PIP. was created by spanner
Good Morning,
A quick question please,
I got a War Pension lump sum a few years ago.
Would I be able to claim PIP for the same conditions ?
Many Thanks

Hello Spanner,
This is not something I have met before, so my answer is based purely on an internet search. I would suggest that you double check with SSAFA who are always really helpful! (0800 260 6767)
However what I read on the 'turn2us' site is that If you are in receipt of compensation from the War Pensions Scheme, whether it is a one off payment or a regular one, you are not entitled Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFPIP). You are however entitled to apply the civilian version - PIP - and yes, for the same conditions.
If you decide to apply, I would strongly recommend that you use our guides to help you through the process.

Thanks for your reply,
I'm not permitted to apply for AFCS or any of its components. My Service falls under War Pension.

Then it sounds as if you are free to apply for PIP. I wish you success.
