Will pip know form is received on time?

I had my pip deadline extended 3 times to a total of 6 extra weeks.

The deadline is Tuesday and I will be sending first thing this Monday by special delivery ie next day. Assuming they receive it on time will they know on the same day and mark my form as recurved?

Or might there be any complications because it is received on the day of the deadline/can benefit get stopped?

I have always posted my PIP and ESA forms the day before the deadline, via Special Signed For Guaranteed Next Day Delivery, and I have never had my payments stopped or any complaint or scolding from the DWP. Even if the DWP does not OPEN the envelope on deadline day, you will have proof that it was DELIVERED on deadline day, and that is what is crucial. The only exception would be, if the deadline was on a Saturday or Sunday, I would post the form (via Special Signed For Guaranteed Next Day Delivery by 1 pm) on the Thursday so it would arrive on the Friday when the DWP are there to receive it and sign for it.

I would be hugely grateful to hear how you got the 3 extensions? I have an enormous amount of symptoms, that I have to write about in answer to the questionnaire, so it's taking a painfully long time and there's no way I can return the form by my deadline. Any advice, on getting multiple extensions, would be massively appreciated!

Definitely send it special delivery, and hang onto that receipt like grim death.
I would also write on the front of the form at the top:

"Sent special delivery to arrive on [date]"

then they'll see that when they scan it into the system.

and phone the next day, as LL26 says.

Hi, when I was returning my form I rang up concerned about this and they gave me an extra week for posting. Might be worth giving the pip line a ring to ask. Try at 9am if you are up to it as I have always got through within 10-15 minutes at that time . I hope that helps.

If you are sending it Special Delivery it’s arrival date and time along with a signature to prove receipt will be recorded. You can view this proof of delivery on the Royal Mail website. That’s all you need.
