Yearly update letter - but no decision letter was created by Onceuponatime6789
Hiya,

Thanks very much for reading my question.

I applied for PIP in Nov last year, was asessed and immediately turned down with zero points on everything. I've never received PIP previously.

My request for MR was received by DWP June 17th and they texted saying I'd hear from them as a guide within 8-10 weeks - roughly now really.

I've heard nothing since then, but today a 'yearly update' arrived which is very confusing as it refers to 'my weekly current payment'.

Of course, I currently get nothing currently and I have checked my bank and nothing new received there from PIP. I haven't had a decision letter about my MR.

Also the yearly update refers to changes months ago in April - unless they meant to write April 2022 for next year?

Does this mean they have decided in my favour? I'm scared to get my hopes up really. Have you heard of others having this experience please?

Letter contents:
The rates of pip are looked at every year and any changes will take place from 12th April 2021

What this means for you
Your current total weekly amount is £151.40
your new total weekly amount is £152.15 from 12th April 2021

How this is made up
The new daily living amount is £89.60
The new mobility amount is £62.55

Thanks very much!

Hello Danielle,

This is a new one on me. I find it strange that if they have made a decision that there is no money in your bank, so I fear that this might be an administrative error. It is certainly time to give them a ring and see what is happening, but whilst I would never wish to kill hope, I would advise you to prepare for a disappointment. (And I will be hoping for good news for you.)

Catherine

Great news - they have decided in my favour! So relieved. Gone from zero points at assessment to receiving PIP after MR.

Money is now in my bank and the decision letter was apparently sent 4 days after this confusing 'yearly update' but is yet to arrive.

Thanks to this board, Catherine and all the admins, it all has really helped me fight my corner.
