Good on you phrank, as previously stated if the award is short then it is worth applying for a MR just on the length of time if you are happy with the award.

And so the saga continues, I know members do like reading your posts, it does give them lots of encouragement, although it must take a hit on your mental health with all the ups and downs along your journey.

Gary

Hi Gary,

That makes me feel good knowing that what I write is being read!

Yes, the saga continues (story of my life) and every time I say I'm done with it, I take a break, get my head together and then carry on.

Actually, just the discipline, and of course the enjoyment of posting on the forum, make me feel positive and that I'm doing something worthwhile.

Regards,

Phrank

I would agree with Bis, at your age the award should be ongoing. Write to your MP and explain your dissatisfaction at the award length.

Hi Jenga,

I 've gone along with your suggestion and written to my MP.

I've also written to the decision maker, so quite a busy day.

I appreciate your post, and thanks.

Kind regards,

Phrank.

Hi Phrank. I am sorry to say I side with the cynics. I would protest now, as I feel they are just giving shorter and shorter awards to reduce total pay-out as people cannot cope with the frequency of reviews and drop out.
Best wishes with this final bit of struggle for now.
Denby

Hi Denby,

Thanks for your reply,

I've protested by way of email to my MP and written to the decision maker with a strong letter expressing my dissatisfaction with the award which is the shortest I've ever been given.

I've taken the care to be firm but polite as at this stage it's no fault of theirs.

Fingers crossed!

Regards,

Phrank.

Thank you Susie for the virtual rage vibes, I may use that term in other posts. ;)

Hey Frank,

I just want to say that I hope you have enough fuel in the tank to get through this (hopefully) last hurdle.

I also have mental health conditions and am acutely aware of how anything to do with the DWP can send me on a spiral downturn. Yet, my sense of injustice can rage when I know sick and disabled people are treated abysmally, and with such cruel contempt.

I was relieved to read you have your MP on side. I really, really hope you have enough fight left to pursue the length of the award, which is a ridiculously short length of time.

I see that the marvellous mods are suggesting that MR, as would any decent human being.

Pulling for you and sending you virtual "rage" vibes!

Best,

Susie

Hi Susie,

Thank you for your good wishes and support.

Virtual rage vibes received, thank you! I may need lots of those so keep them coming.

Yes, Friday in particular was a bad day. I managed a packet of crisps early evening I had been so upset and felt so sick after reading the letter. I also had a glass of wine too many.

I felt better the next day when my brain had finally processed it so am still fighting for the DM to change the award length. I am posting the letter tomorrow. And yes, I have written to my MP again.

There's not much else I can do for now until I hear something but will be on the forum for sure.

Kind regards,

Phrank.
