Part time work on PIP was created by paulcornwall
Hi guys, could someone please explain the rules of working while on PIP. When I say working I mean selling items from home part time. I've always been a do'er any anytime I feel well enough I need to scratch that itch so I wouldn't know how much I could do, but don't want to get into trouble at the same time. As always your help is appreciated.

Hello Paul.

I admire your approach. The good news is that there are no restrictions about working when you are in receipt of PIP (unlike ESA and UC).

The only caveat I would give to that is when your PIP is reviewed they will probably ask how you spend your time, and if there is a discrepancy between what you say on your PIP form and what you do they will reasonably ask questions. To take an extreme example, if you say on your form that you can only walk 100m but reveal that you have a part time job as a gardener they will ask you to explain this. Now, it could be that you do all the gardening from a wheel chair, in which case no problem....

I hope you get my drift. I wish you success in whatever you choose to do.
