Dla award was created by Janner
I am 80 years old and have been on dla mobility for 15 years . How ever in JANUARY this year I had a stroke and now heart failure! A neighbour on my behalf requested a review for me.i was amazed that 10 days later I was awarded full care and mobility at enhanced rate. The award letter does not have a end date . Could someone please tell me what that means, and could the dwp take my award away at any time regards David

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi David
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
As your date of birth is before 8th April 1948 then you have either a indefinite award or life award, in which case you will not be re-assessed even if your condition deteriorates as you are now on the maximum award for DLA, whereas before, you were not getting the maximum for your care component.
You may want to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation to see if you are entitled to any additional benefits such as pension credits. You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
If your condition improves then yes the DWP could remove your award.
