DLA
Hello
For the last few years I have been on full PIP but prior to me being on this I had just been surviving on ESA which wasn’t easy
I have a lot of serious conditions and did back at the time when I applied several times for DLA as well
I feel I have been cheated out of a lot of money over a lot of years (will be 57 in Nov)
None of the conditions I have were caused by myself
I suffered terribly and still do but now I’m a different way
Some of the conditions were not so well known about when I applied like aggressive Endometriosis which I needed up having 7 operations for (all to no avail)
I have since gone through the menopause but due to all the operations it left me with a lot of adhesions amd unable to have children
My left Fallopian tube was stuck down on my uterus
Pain was horrific
They gave me a drug called Zoladex which I was only allowed for 6 months
It caused temporary menopause
I am sorry I accepted that as I went on to develop Osteopenia then Osteoporosis
For a very long time I had a lot of pain in my feet but it is only more recently it was diagnosed as Osteo Arthritis
I have had Insomnia for a very long time due to the severity of the combined pain
My immune system was so low I also developed Shingles
On another occasion I was rushed into hospital with Appendicitis
I was 3 hrs late going in for surgery and my Appendix burst and I had peritonitis
I was very poorly and lucky to be alive
Sadly I went through all this on my own
On one occasion the last time when I applied for DLA they said a Doctor would be calling out to see me so I requested a female doctor
This was overlooked and they sent a male doctor who was not very nice at all
He asked to examine me. When I complained he totally denied it
Prior to this application I was able to obtain consultants letters to support my application and they conveniently lost my form for 6 months
When it seemed to re-appear they told me all the evidence I had obtained was out of date and I would need to re-apply
Sorry this is not very well organised however if anyone can help or guide me in the right direction it would be more than appreciated as I suffered alone having to survive on little money
Thank you
Anne
I have had widespread Psoriasis since age 4
Severe IBS, Fibromyalgia
Also the Fibromyalgia wasn’t recognised either

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi sunflowergirl37
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I believe the question you are asking is, 'can you appeal your DLA decision from a few years ago or get compensation'.
The first thing I would say is that DLA stopped for new adult claimants in 2013, and therefore you are outside the absolute time limit of 13 months in which to appeal a DLA decision.
You may want to contact a Welfare Rights Organisation to see if they can help you, but you may get the same answer. You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
