Daughter had PIP telephone assessment. Already in receipt of PIP this was a renewal. It lasted 3 hours. After one hour, daughter was exhausted and assessor suggested asking her supervisor if the interview could be halted there and picked up again later. The answer came back that if she did that, then the interview would need to start from the beginning. So daughter ploughed on although she needed a couple of breaks for the loo, was in tears sometimes and picking all the skin off her hands. Very distressed.
In fairness the assessor was very nice, didn't rush my daughter, although she had a small child in the room with her. However, about 5 hours after this 3 hour interview ended, she phoned my daughter to ask some more questions. Not many, but if this could happen, why couldn't the interview had been staggered?
Anyuway, I am sharing this to ask whether others have had similar experiences?
Yes, there are others who have been phoned back after an assessment, but it's not usually the same day. After having spent three hours, I consider that unfair to your daughter. Should she not receive a satisfactory report, she should put in a complaint. She can phone for a copy of the assessment report after 48 hrs. It's a PA4.
