Question aboult pip submissions was created by Waxwing
Hello

On your guide for filling in the PIP2 form you also list a set of questions that a applicant might be asked at an assesment. I would like to know please would it be possible to answer those questions in detail and include them with the PIP2 form subbmission. What I am trying to do is to avoid a face to face or telephone assesment so it is my thinking the more detailed and accurate information I give the greater the chances of a paper based assesment being carried out.

Final question. With regards to a online PIP application. I understand that they send you the pip2 form to complete on your PC then email it back via a secure link that is assosiated with your email. I would like to know please about submitting evidence. Am I able to submit a multi page PDF file with all scans and photograhpical evidence because I want to page number them and reference the page numbers in the PIP2 form.

Just trying to get everything together before we make the claim which will not be just yet as we are still compliling the claim.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Waxwing

These are questions that you may be asked at an assessment. Plenty of claimants find that they are asked just a few and then entirely different questions which most people think are asked to catch claimants out and have little or nothing to do with PIP. I think it would be a very odd thing to do, to try and include answers to those questions on the PIP2 form and could potentially open a claimant up to greater scrutiny than they might have been which may not lead to a positive outcome.

If you get asked for face to face or telephone assessment, you are now allowed to appeal and you could argue for a paper-based one.

Online PIP forms are still being trialled - so unable to provide you with information about them. I think only one member has reported being sent one and didn't give any details.

Hi Waxwing,
I agree with BIS. There are no set questions, and I agree providing answers to possible questions would look odd, and invite more, and possibly more awkward questions. However, having a think about how to answer possible questions could be a good way of preparing for an assessment, as long as you keep an open mind and be wary there could be other questions too. The phone assessment may be an option you need to consider
I haven't tried the online PIP form, but I regularly use the online appeal form - SSCS1. There is a limit to how much that can be uploaded on that one. However, if you reach the limit, make a note on the form and explain, and then you can simply send the extra pages by post in the ordinary way, but make sure you carefully label each one with your name and NI number.
As with all things online don't rely on the automatic save in case it doesn't work. Make a back up copy and save this or do screenshot and save as you go.
I hope this helps.

Thanks LL26

Yes I am aware of the online appeals form as we used that in out last "failed" appeal. I found it simple to use.

With regards to the questions yes you are correct it would look a little odd. I did not give that a thought hence I am pleased I asked here first. What we have decided to do is to answer the questions in preperaition for a possible assesment like you suggested and we are going to make it clear that it must be a telephone assesment and at best a paper based assesment.

Thank you
