GP surgeries and emailing the DWP was created by phrank
Hi all,
My GP has agreed to back up my quest to get my the recommended PIP award by the assessment provider changed to an ongoing one.
I saw my GP last week and they said they would send it on which I thought they meant send it to me so that I could send it on in the usual way. I phoned the surgery and they have no record of a letter?
That leaves only one option: I presume that GP surgeries have the means to send information by email to the DWP, would that be right?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as usual.
Regards,
Phrank.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
Replied by BIS on topic GP surgeries and emailing the DWP
Hi Phrank
I assume that the DWP after talking to any medical professionals will sometimes ask for information to be emailed back - but at that point, they will provide them with the encrypted email address they use. Whether your GP already has one - I couldn't say. You would hope so.

Thanks, BIS,
I've done a bit of searching and it appears they can email if it's a valid NHS address.
That would explain it.
Kind regards,
Phrank
