Is it too late to challenge a LEAP review?

Hi all,

Thank you very much for all the help you've given me in the past. Due to the members guide I managed to receive a letter yesterday keeping my PIP award until September 2024. Paper review only.

Just as last time I receive the standard mobility allowance. Yet, my initial claim I scored 4 points I believe.

I had my LEAP letter well over a year ago, and i did not challenge it, as i was afraid. I still am.

I'm wondering if there was a time limit to question them on this? As I don't think it's justifiable to say i wasn't entitled to it then, but (despite my mobility issues on MH grounds not changing at all) I am entitled to it now.

Is it worth me writing and asking them to look again?
If I were to do so, could it affect my current award? I really, truly cannot support my family without it and am not sure about risking it.

Any advice is appreciated, and as always - my gratitude for the members guide which helped me know exactly what to send.

Hi TD888

As you acknowledge that you received your leap letter "well over a year ago", you are going to struggle to get them to look at it again, because you should have challenged it within 13 months. I think even if you make the request they are unlikely to do so. However, you have nothing to lose by asking and asking will have no impact on your current award.
