PIP and LEAP reviews success

After months of waiting for my PIP review (Covid delays) and years of waiting for the changes in law to be applied to my claim I have now been awarded enhanced for both daily living and mobility for an ongoing period. This has been applied and backdated from March 2017 and is in respect of the change in law resulting from RJ v DWP (not MH which did not apply to me). Had I not been a member of B&W and received updates and had the benefit of all the wonderful guides I don’t believe this would have been the outcome. I had never received any letters from DWP for the LEAP review and I suspect that I would have been missed as the conditions I suffer which cause loss of consciousness are not as familiar as perhaps those with epilepsy. I was pleased to see that the case law (RJ) was applied in my most recent PIP review assessment by the health professional but this did not trigger the LEAP review for my historic claim. So yet again I had to do a lot of letter writing and make calls to get this applied. So thank you B&W for keeping us informed and up to date and personally for giving me the confidence to challenge decisions made. My advice to anyone in a similar position would be don’t give up and seek support, to help you on those awful days when you just want to give up and shut the world out!
