Hi I just found this ,,
I have still not heard back from the PIP regarding my review, and yesterday my wife who is my carer got a letter saying her carers allowance will end in 2 weeks as my PIP is due to end!?

Please can anyone help/advise, my wife cannot speak the best english so it would be difficult for her to call those people?
thank you anyone for any advice

Hi Alseypalsy

First, you need to phone the DWP and find out about your review. You need to know if your claim is about to end. If they say it is, you want to know why and find out 1) will your claim be extended? or 2) will your money be backdated if your review takes place after your current award has ended?

Once you have the answer to that, someone needs to contact the DWP about carers allowance. You or a family member or a friend can ring on her behalf, as long as she is there just to give permission. Without phoning, it is difficult to know what is going on. Otherwise, the money will just stop.

Thank you for the advice, managed to call them today the pip said that my award has been extended for 3 months until nov 2022 but to expect it to be extended again until i have a physical assesment ,, they really make me scared and worried as it may take years by sound of it

then they tell me to call the carers so we tried that and the woman on the phone told us to phone pip again as they had nothing to say the pip was extended, so called them and they told us to call carers again,, but by then couldnt cope with it :(

Hi alesypalsy

Carers Allowance (CA) is dependant on the D/L component of a PIP claim.

To break the deadlock you could ask PIP to confirm in writing that your claim has been extended and then send that letter to CA.
