thank you everyone! I feel sick to the stomach already! The driving bit really got to me, I live on Exmoor the doctors is 5 miles, in the last year, going by my mot I have done 200 miles in my car, thats is with the times my husband has driven it! I rarely drive! but yes I think I need to appeal, my benefits are all contribution based only except I get industrial accident for life due to an accident at work resulting in me having a plate in my neck and limiting mobility in it!

HimPauline. Two things. 7% of the population have a gene difference that means very many drugs a) do not work as intended and b) cause bad side effects because the body lacks the ability to process these meds the way 93% do, so the un-or part-processed drug is swilling round your body. It does sound to me as though this could be an issue for you. Sadly it is rare to meet a doctor who even knows this, though more, but not all, pharmacists do. I can give more details if it is helpful.
Secondly if it cheers you on at all, the DWP's carry on including their contract assessors make me sick to my stomach. For you now, and terrible butterflies every time our daughter's renewal comes up.
Best regards,
Denby

Denby - that's really interesting about meds etc - I'm allergic to the 2nd drug they give during anaphylaxis and sensitive to many other meds which often worsen the conditions they are supposed to help.
Do you have any links to info on this or a name for the condition I can look up?
Thanks in advance
:o)

Also, be aware of all the additives in medication that can cause reactions. That large tablet may only contain a few milligrams of a drug and a lot of packing material.
My children when small were allergic to red colourants. This meant that they could not have Amoxicillin (a common antibiotic) which is pink only Amoxil, which is yellow. Amoxicillin is also a lot less expensive than Amoxil. Same drug but different colours. I cannot have any medications which contain Aspartame, a common sweetener, as I have a bad reaction to it.

Hi all, a couple of links about the genetic problem for around 7% of people re many common meds.
"What are the effects of CYP2D6 polymorphisms?
Liver Detox Genes – CYP2D6. There are several important polymorphisms in CYP2D6 which cause either extensive or very poor metabolism – or something in between. There are both good and bad potential consequences of being a poor or extensive metabolizer. Being a poor metabolizer may reduce the risk of some cancers such as bladder or lung.
CYP2D6: Variants that cause reactions to common ...
www.geneticlifehacks.com/liver-detox-genes-cyp2d6/ "
www.genecards.org/cgi-bin/carddisp.pl?gene=CYP2D6
That one is quite technical but a pharmacist should understand it... and some doctors?
Hope that sets you on the path of finding out more. My husband and a friend have both been told the NHS does not test for this gene anomaly which is a scandal considering the number of patients on whom money is being wasted on meds that don't cure just add trouble. Waiting to hear when it will be possible to send a cheek swab to the USA where it is fairly routine, we can afford it if necessary but the problem even if we get the test is NHS doctors tend to totally rubbish any test result that has been got privately!.[had this with daughter's thyroid gene issue]
