Universal Credit - Health Assessment Advisory Service postal letter

Hi,

The Centre for Health and Disablity (CHDA) has asked the DWP to video call me to asses my capability to work.

They want this done via a video call.

What are my rights if I do not have access to a video camera or do not want a video assessment? What are the alternatives?

Thanks

Hi Joshua

I imagine that many people might say they don't have the right equipment - though if you look at what they say you need a lot of people will have a smart phone chdauk.co.uk/help-with-video-assessments...20may%20be%20stopped.

I can't find anything on the government website that says about the claimant's right to refuse a video call. Obviously, if you don't have access to the equipment - they can't penalise you for that and they would have to make other arrangements. I think if you just refuse without giving an explanation of why you can't take part in the process you could put your claim at risk.
