Income based esa support group assessment

I’m having my assessment this week.
I’m currently on CB ESA, hoping to get into support group. I actually lost my job due to my illness and have sent in letters from my employer, my GP and occupational health supporting all my claim.
I can’t remember what I wrote in the medical form as it was oct 2021, and I’ve lost the copy. I’m worried that the person assessing me ( via video), will not see how poorly I am, or I might say something wrong. My current claim ends 20/6/22…….. if I get the SG allowance will that be back dated to oct of last year? How long will they take to decide, am I best off saying no to questions instead of ‘it varies’. I’m beside myself with anxiety…… which is also documented on my form.
Arrrrgggghhhhhh

Hi Alison

I'm sorry that you are feeling so anxious. I can understand your sense of disquiet as it is not easy for anyone to assess a person via video. I can't tell you how long it will take to decide with any certainty, but I would hope sometime between 6 - 8 weeks. If your allowance changes it should be backdated to Oct 21.

I can't tell you what to say in your assessment. If you have already written that something varies on your form - then an assessor will pick up if your answer is different now. I know you haven't got a copy. Obviously, something could have changed since you sent in the form - and that is fine to say so.

Something for the future - take photos of your forms and then it's easier to keep a copy if you lose the paper copy.

I hope it goes well for you.
